Active Travel North Tyneside’s Get Moving project promotes active travel among employees at Cobalt Business Park with the aim to increase the number of people walking and cycling to work in order to increase physical and mental wellbeing and decrease absenteeism through improving employee health.
The project also works with local communities, offering guided walks, rides and bike hire.

On 20th June, Get Moving held a successful 'Waggonways to health' cycle ride which was attended by 388 cyclists of all ages. Cyclists enjoyed a mountain a bike display team and trials display at the end of the ride.
Get Moving held a bike mechanics event on 13th June where dads and granddads passed on knowledge of bike maintenance to the younger generations. The event encouraged families to get their bikes out and ready to ride again.
On World Environment Day, Get Moving supplied free loan bikes to the public, who used them to visit attractions for the event along the coastline.
During Bike Week, Get Moving opened up Colbalt Park Way exclusively to pedestrians and cyclists. The 3m wide shared path which directly links Colbalt North and South can now be used by Colbalt Business Park employees for active travel.

A programme of summer family events has been launched for the school holidays, including supporting family cycle training with North Tyneside Council.
